10 steps
Start streaming GTA 6
Ten steps from your first stream to Twitch Affiliate and beyond. No PC needed.
1.9k GTA 5 channels are live on Twitch right now. 81% have fewer than 10 viewers. These steps get you past 10.
1Set up in ten minutes, no PC needed
Your console can stream to Twitch or YouTube on its own. Start there; add a capture card and OBS later if you want overlays and alerts.
- PS5: press the Create button, choose Broadcast, pick Twitch or YouTube and link your account.
- Xbox Series X|S: install the Twitch app and sign in.
- Turn on two-factor authentication on Twitch. Console broadcasts and Affiliate both need it.
- Plug in a headset mic. Talking is what makes people stay.

2Pick your lane
New viewers choose a stream in seconds. Tell them what they get: a first story playthrough, chaos and funny moments, cars and stunts, exploring Leonida, or hunting secrets. Pick one and say it in every title.
- Check what's rising before you choose.
- Write your lane into your Twitch bio and stream title.
3Be live at unlock
Launch night is when the most people will be looking for GTA 6 streams. GTA 6 unlocks at local midnight on 19 November, country by country, starting in New Zealand at 11:00 UTC on 18 November. Be live 30 minutes before your unlock with a countdown on screen.
- Pre-load from 12 November so you start the second it unlocks.
- Set an unlock alert and tell your first followers the time.
- Australia and New Zealand unlock first: if that's you, you're among the first GTA 6 streams in the world.
4Go live when you'll be seen
The busiest hour isn't the best hour. When thousands of channels are live, a new one sinks. Stream in the hours with the most viewers for each live streamer, at the same times, at least four days a week.
- Find your best hours in your own time zone.
- Put your schedule in your Twitch bio and stick to it.
5Title for clicks, not spoilers
Your title is your shop window in the GTA category. Say what's happening right now and use the words that bring viewers in GTA streams. Keep story spoilers out of titles and thumbnails.
- Change your title as the stream changes.
- Test one new title word a week.
6Reach Twitch Affiliate in your first month
Affiliate turns on subs, Bits and ads. Since June 2025 you need, within 30 days: 25 followers, 4 hours streamed, 4 different days, and an average of 3 viewers on those days, with two-factor authentication on.
- Stream four days in your first two weeks, an hour or more each.
- Ask every new chatter to follow. 25 is closer than it sounds.

7Get found off Twitch
With thousands of GTA channels live at once, the Twitch directory alone won't find you viewers. Turn your best moments into vertical shorts for TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Reels after every stream, and post your best clip to Sunset Strip, where players vote.
- Post one short a day during launch week.
- Enter the Daily Job: the top-voted clip wins a month of Studio Pro.
8Raid and team up with channels your size
End every stream by raiding someone your size who's live now in your language. Streamers remember who raids them, and raids are how small channels share audiences.
- Raid at the end of every stream.
- Ask one similar streamer a week to play together.
9Track your climb
See where you rank among every GTA streamer on Twitch, how far you are behind the next channel, and how you moved since last week. Watch the channels just ahead of you.
- Check your rank once a week, not once an hour.
- Add your rank badge to your stream.
10Stay inside Rockstar's rules
Rockstar lets players stream and post gameplay. What gets taken down: leaked or pre-release footage, isolated cutscenes or the ending posted on their own, and content promoting money glitches or mod menus. In-game radio can trigger music claims on replays.
- Never show footage from before your unlock time.
- Keep cutscenes inside your full playthrough.

Track every step on your channel
Studio Pro checks your streams against each step and gives you three missions a week. They tick off as you go live.
Questions
How do I become a GTA 6 streamer?
Stream straight from your PS5 or Xbox to Twitch, be live the moment GTA 6 unlocks where you are, then stream at least four days a week in the hours with the most viewers for each live streamer, not the busiest hours. Aim for Twitch Affiliate in your first month (25 followers, 4 hours, 4 days, 3 average viewers), raid channels your size, and turn every stream into shorts so people find you off Twitch.
Can I stream GTA 6 from a PS5 without a PC?
Yes. Press the Create button, choose Broadcast, pick Twitch or YouTube and link your account. Xbox Series X|S streams to Twitch through the Twitch app. A capture card and OBS are only needed for overlays and alerts.
When should I go live on GTA 6 launch night?
About 30 minutes before GTA 6 unlocks where you are, with a countdown on screen. It unlocks at local midnight on 19 November 2026, starting in New Zealand at 11:00 UTC on 18 November; the US and Canada unlock together at midnight Eastern.
How do I become a Twitch Affiliate?
Within 30 days: 25 followers, 4 hours streamed, 4 different days, and an average of 3 viewers on those days, with two-factor authentication on. Twitch lowered these in June 2025.
Am I allowed to stream GTA 6?
Yes. Rockstar lets players stream and post gameplay. Avoid leaked or pre-release footage, posting cutscenes or the ending on their own, and promoting money glitches or mod menus.
How do I get my first viewers?
Stream in the hours with the most viewers per live streamer, title what's happening right now, raid channels your size, and post shorts of your best moments every day. Most small streams have fewer than 10 viewers, so the first 10 matter most.
What does it cost?
Streaming from a console is free, and Sunset Strip's leaderboard, channel check and the top of every tool are free. Studio Pro unlocks all the data and Clip Autopilot on every stream for US$23.95 a month.
